INSIDIOUS DISEASE – Video

INSIDIOUS DISEASE Partner Up With MetalSucks To Debut Boundless Video

INSIDIOUS DISEASE has partnered up with MetalSucks to exclusively present the worldwide debut of their new Boundless video. Click on the link below now to check out this truly disturbing clip.
(link here)

Marc Grewe (vocals) states: “This video features the guy from our Shadowcast album cover. His name is Roa Hoch-Nielsen. The story behind it is obvious. Roa has the role of a loving father and husband with this kind of funny hobby. He likes to read riffle magazines and after the family went to bed he is starting his obscure work.

“My part in the video is being the ‘electric eye’ filming his work. We think that something like this happens; we had a case in Austria, where this guy tortured his own daughter for over 25 years. He made everyone believe that he was a loving and caring father, but that clearly wasn’t the real case. Something like this could happen right now. Maybe it´s your neighbor who seems to be the nicest person around, but behind closed doors the dark abyss of abnormality is the total reality.

“The plan for INSIDIOUS DISEASE is to hopefully go out on a tour beginning of next year and of course it would be great to do some famous festivals. Hope that we will catch up with some of you sick motherfuckers soon. Until then enjoy our homage to Hitchcock and Texas Chainsaw Massacre done in our own morbid style!”

Extreme metal legends have united as INSIDIOUS DISEASE unleash the most violent death metal album to come along in years. The evil breed consisting of Dimmu Borgir’s main songwriter Silenoz, bassist Shane Embury (Napalm Death), guitarist Jardar (Old Mans Child), drummer Tony Laureano (Angelcorpse, Nile) and vocalist Marc Grewe (from German death metal legends Morgoth) who just released their debut album Shadowcast. INSIDIOUS DISEASE – new album “Shadowcast” OUT NOW! Track-by-track video part one online!

INSIDIOUS DISEASE, the new band by Dimmu Borgir’s main songwriter Silenoz and other extreme metal legends such as Shane Embury (Napalm Death), Jardar (Old Mans Child), Tony Laureano (Angelcorpse, Nile) and Marc Grewe (from German death metal legend Morgoth), has released its debut album “Shadowcast” in Europe today (US release is July 27th)! If you like your death metal blood-soaked and crushingly heavy, get this immediately and prepare for total carnage!

Now, vocalist Marc Grewe reveals more about the lyrical concept of “Shadowcast” in the first part of a detailed track-by-track feature which also includes audio samples of the commented songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAj_Aqmh6e0

INSIDIOUS DISEASE faced serious problems during the manufacturing process as pressing plants refused to produce the original design of the booklet due to its violent content as well as print the equally controversial lyrics. To give you the full, uncensored experience of this album the retail version of the CD includes a code for the band’s website (www.insidiousdisease.com), where you can view the full lyrics and additional artwork. Beware! This is not for the faint of heart! Furthermore, the limited first pressing of the album includes two bonustracks: “Insomaniac” and the stunning Death-cover “Leprosy”!

The current video clip for the song ”Rituals Of Bloodshed” and further info on INSIDIOUS DISEASE can be found at http://www.myspace.com/insidiousdisease!

"…the most violent death metal album ever".

DIMMU BORGIR: NEW ALBUM ARTWORK & TITLE REVEALED

clip_image002

The artwork created for the new DIMMU BORGIR album Abrahadabra by German artist / painter / graphic designer Joachim Luetke (Arch Enemy, Kreator, Sopor Aeternus) has been uploaded to the band’s MySpace page.

The word “abrahadabra” (which roughly translates into “I will create as I speak”) first publicly appeared in Chapter III of Liber AL vel Legis (commonly referred to as The Book of the Law) written by Aleister Crowley in Cairo, Egypt in 1904.

DIMMU BORGIR singer/songwriter Shagrath shares the following about the new album:

“After eleven months of total focus, dedication and professional team work, Darkness has been reborn. Some people have expressed their concern about the future of the band since the departure of some members of the clan. Let me assure you that things happen for a reason. The black flame burns brighter than ever before. With the mixture of our different musical preferences and the personalities involved, I will dare to say we have created a BEAST, the most detailed work to date out of our 17 years of existence. I know it’s too much of a cliché to brag when you have a done a new album, but to put it short and simple, it’s a fist in the face to all the doubters out there. Forward – Onward – March… ENTER THE SUPREME UNKNOWN.”

For the second time in the band’s career (i.e. 1996’s Stormblåst), a one-word album title breaks the tradition of a three-word album title for a new studio release dating back to DIMMU BORGIR’s 1994’s debut, For All Tid.

Guitarist/songwriter Silenoz has this to say on the topic:

"We knew there would be some big changes with this album in more than one way and since we’ve had the three word title tradition for many years now, we thought it’d make a lot of sense for us to move on from that. It has served its purpose. We are a band that’s all about change and moving forward. An album title consisting of one word goes hand-in-hand with the new material – it describes both the musical and lyrical content in a more imaginary way, not to mention the unity and the everlasting flame which is DIMMU BORGIR. Expect the unexpected!"

When asked about the central figure in the artwork and who/what he’s supposed to represent, artist Joachim Luetke responds:

“I think that’s obvious. Since the whole ‘setting’ is located in an icy, bleak, winter-y, post-industrial era, we’re pretty close to H.P. Lovecraft’s nameless elder gods. They’re represented by the mask’s tentacles. In short: the mask/face personifies dominion of powers far beyond mankind. The nameless gods witnessed the birth of our universe and they’ll watch it implode. To them, the age of mankind is but a blink of an eye.”

Abrahadabra will be released in Germany on September 24th, in the rest of Europe on  September 27th, and in North America on October 12th..

DIMMU BORGIR: PART 3 OF NEW ALBUM ARTWORK REVEALED

clip_image002

The third of four portions of the new artwork for the as-yet-untitled DIMMU BORGIR album has been uploaded to the band’s MySpace page.

When asked if there’s a connection between the image on the new album and the character from Death Cult Armageddon, German artist / painter / graphic designer Joachim Luetke (Arch Enemy, Kreator, Sopor Aeternus) – who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Switzerland – responds: “The [older] character’s called The Wanderer. Now, in retrospective, I feel that he’s always been the prophet, the herald of an age to come. Now he’s roaming the world after mankind’s demise. He’s the last of his kind. Neither human nor god – the perfect link to the age of the elder gods.”

Luetke’s artwork and layout art also graced DIMMU BORGIR’s In Sorte Diaboli (2007) and Death Cult Armageddon (2003).

Over 101 musicians have contributed to the making of the new album, including Norwegian composer and Berklee College of Music summa cum laude alumnus Gaute Storaas, the 51 members of KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra), and the 38-member Schola Cantorum Choir.

DIMMU BORGIR’s ninth studio album will be released in Germany on September 24th, in the rest of Europe on  September 27th, and in North America on October 12th.

DIMMU BORGIR: PART 2 OF NEW ALBUM ARTWORK REVEALED

clip_image002

The second of four portions of the new artwork for the as-yet-untitled DIMMU BORGIR album has been uploaded to the band’s MySpace page.

When asked if fans should look for something hidden in the artwork that may not be obvious at first glance, German artist / painter / graphic designer Joachim Luetke (Arch Enemy, Kreator, Sopor Aeternus) responds: “It’s not like looking at a picture puzzle, but if you listen to the music while looking at the imagery, an additional dimension will unfold before your eyes, that’s for sure. Learning about the real meaning of the album title is also a useful key to it.”

Luetke’s artwork and layout art also graces two other DIMMU BORGIR albums: 2003’s Death Cult Armageddon and 2007’s In Sorte Diaboli.

In early June, DIMMU BORGIR proudly announced their collaboration with Norwegian composer and Berklee College of Music summa cum laude alumnus Gaute Storaas in addition to the 51 members of KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and the 38-member Schola Cantorum Choir for their new release. To date, over 101 musicians have contributed to the making of the new album.

Composer Gaute Storaas has said of DIMMU BORGIR: “There have been several attempts of dressing up rock bands in suits, bow ties, and symphonic splendor – to various degrees of success. My role in this is sometimes just to transcribe their themes, sometimes to take their ideas, tear them apart and build them back up in ways that are true to the band’s intentions.”

DIMMU BORGIR’s ninth studio album will be released in Germany on September 24th, in the rest of Europe on  September 27th, and in North America on October 12th.
